Evidence-Based Treatment
There are about 10% of population are suffering from insomnia worldwide. Insomnia is also a risk factor for depression. Currently, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) has been recognized as the first-line treatment for insomnia by WHO, American Association of Sleep Medicine, etc. Dr. Yishan has conducted insomnia treatment research with Dr. Barwick at Stanford Medical School and top hospitals in China for more than 3 years. Their research data found Dr. Yishan's treatment group is effective for patients with insomnia. Also, Dr. Yishan continuously optimizes the course content based on the research results.
Board-Certified Sleep Expert
Dr. Yishan Xu is an adjunct clinical faculty at Stanford Sleep Medicine Center after being trained there, and currently serves as a committee board co-chair for the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine. She is one of the first board-certified Mandarin-English bilingual sleep specialists in America, and there are only about 400 sleep experts who gained certification from the Board of Behavioral Sleep Medicine within America. Dr. Yishan is also the host of a top-ranking sleep science podcast: "Deep into Sleep".
Accountability
During the course, you are expected to submit your sleep log to Dr. Yishan on a weekly basis, and participate in the zoom Q&A. Your progress will be monitored closely within the 4-week treatment. By discussing your concerns and questions with Dr. Yishan and others who take the course every week, you will find support and hold yourself accountable for the changes you will make.
It normally takes me 40-60 minutes to fall back asleep once I wake up. After trying all the relaxation exercises in the course, I am able to fall back asleep much faster.
